There is so much to talk about when it comes to beauty.
There is beauty on the outside and beauty on the inside. One of the most important things to remember about teen skincare is that what you put into your body is just as   important as anything you put on it. So always try to make the best choices when it comes to what you eat, because it really does affect the appearance and condition of your skin.  Skin is also influenced by genetics, hormones, your lifestyle and your skin care routine. So keep up those good habits.

MIND GAMES

Stress can have a negative effect on your body and your skin.Take a few minutes at the end of each day to focus on all the good things in your life. This will help you sleep better and you will wake more rested.

 

BODY BEATIFUL

As the temperature drops the skin on your body will show signs of dryness.
Here are few things you can do to help your skin weather the cold.

Use only Chemical Free, Dye Free and Fragrance Free laundry detergent.

Instead of a synthetic body lotion, choose a natural alternative like sesame oil. To make a fabulous body oil, fill a small spray bottle with sesame oil, add five to seven drops of your favorite essential oil. Spray all over your body right out of the shower then gently towel off. Your skin will be silky smooth and have an amazing glow!  Make one for your best friend and mom for holiday giving so they can have beautiful skin too. You can find sesame oil in health food stores or the natural products area of your supermarket.

 

SKIN FOOD OF THE MONTH

Butternut Squash – Did you know this fall vegetable is actually a fruit because it contains seeds? When your mom serves it up this month, take two helpings because it’s loaded with Vitamins A, B6, Vitamin C, Folate and Potassium. Loads of phytonutrients and antioxidants. Great for not only your skin, but your immune system and heart too.

 

ACNE FACTS
A pimple starts when the pores in the skin become clogged with a type of oil called sebum, which normally lubricates the skin and hair. Acne is common during puberty when hormones go into overdrive, causing the skin to overproduce sebum. Because many oil-producing glands are on the forehead, nose, and chin, this area — the T-zone — is where a person is most prone to pimples. Follow these simple tips.


Wash your face:  Wash at least twice a day with warm water and our Good for you Girls Gel Cleanser. Gently massage your face with circular motions. Don't scrub. Over washing and scrubbing can cause skin to become irritated.


Don't pop pimples: It's tempting, but here's why you shouldn't: Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin, leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring.


Avoid touching your face:  Don’t lean your face on your hands. Touching your face can spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated. To keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands often.


Throw away old make-up: You can’t imagine the bacteria growing in there. Yuck!


Clean make-up applicators and brushes: Put a drop of our gel cleanser into warm water. Soak brushes and applicators for a few minutes.  Rinse and make sure they are completely dry before use.  


Bedtime routine: Always wash your face before bed.  Keep hair clean and out of your face at night to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.
